In November, rumors about the Android 6.0 Marshmallow coming to the LG G3 somewhere between December 16 and 18 (2015) in Poland made rounds on the Internet. Without an official saying from the South Korea-based smartphone maker LG though, many were advised to take the news with a grain of salt and have some patience.
Now, according to recent developments it is indicated that this 2014 handset (LG G3) is really going to receive the much awaited Android update, according to the LG's developer's website.
Based on the image, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS is going to roll out to the LG D855, which is the international variant of the LG G3. This means that this version is surely going to get the new Android update first.
On the other hand, the arrival of the Marshmallow update to other LG G3 variants could be late depending on their carrier and regions, where the LG D850 which is for AT&T, LG D851 for T-Mobile and LG D852 is for Canada.
When LG launched the LG G3 back in May 2014, the handset was easily one of the most eye-catching Android smartphones in the market. Sporting a 5.5-inch display with a 1,440 x 2,560 resolution, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 along with 2 GB worth of RAM for the 16 GB variant and 3 GB for the 32 GB model.
It also comes with a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 2.1 MP front shooter. As for the battery, it has a 3,000mAh pack.
With these hardware specifications, the LG G3 still stands as one of the most capable smartphones today. When the new Android version arrives, it's only going to get even better.
As of now, LG hasn't given out a confirmed release date yet, but with this prooof, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is going to land on the LG G3 in some time.
