If you got an S-ON HTC Amaze 4g (Ruby) running a custom recovery and ROM, then you might run into some trouble when attempting to revert/rollback your HTC Amaze to entirely stock, factory configuration. You are tired of custom rom and want to get the most recent stock update android version with a stable firmware. But most of the information available online is either incomplete or entirely incorrect and sometimes it is a complete challenge to understand them. And what if you tried to flash a custom rom using a custom recovery and whole process was a disaster and something went wrong, you also lost stock or custom running OS too.Here the most terrible thing that you forgot about making a backup or the backup didn't worked anyhow.
So a correct guide with good steps and resource is good for people who normally have less or no idea about it.
Followings i am going to describe a step based method to avoid and save from any confusion. If you perform all steps in guide i am sure that this would be helpful
Things you need first:
1: A computer running Windows (XP or 7) Windows 8/8.1 or 10 is not supported due to drivers issue. And a proper data cable for HTC amaze.
2: Proper drivers for your HTC. You can get them here. (Not working on Windows 8 or later so don't waste time, Better get a Windows 7 PC)
3: Stock RUU (Stock Rom or Image). You can get here. (Make sure to download according to your carrier like as T-Mobile or others. Rename the downloaded file to "PH85IMG.zip"
4: HTC All-in-one kit from here or here. (Thanks to hasoon2000 for making an awesome kit tool)
(It also contains Drivers too. Download any latest version from Amaze folder:).
5: A HTC device in fastboot mode. (By pressing Volume-Down+Power button when phone is powered off).
After doing everything right. Now
Steps:
1: extract Kit from download file (from 4th steps above). Launch "HTC Amaze.exe".
2: Connect phone to computer with a proper data cable when phone in fastboot mode. (Above in 5th step). Let it install any driver (If required).
3: Now click on "Mainver Error Fix" this will allow you to downgrade. Then, use the "Re-lock Bootloader" command. This time your device will restart.(If everything goes well). It will again try to boot OS. Follow the above 5th step to boot into "fastboot mode" again.
(This time at top "Re-locked bootloader" must be written.
4: After these steps now it's time to flash stock RUU (Stock Rom) into phone. Now click on "Flash Factory RUU zip" command. A CMD windows will appear. When it is done close it then another would open.
(This will first reboot your mobile into download mode where a Gray/purple HTC would be written).
5: When it asks for stock RUU browse the downloaded stock rom (From above 3rd step).
( This process can take time as it pushes file to phone for flashing).
6: If everything goes well the flashing process will be started after 3 to 5 min. It can take 5 to 10 min.
(Depends upon your computer and data cable). If it shows any error
( Like as after signature verification it says an error and ask to start process again immediately)
then close the CMD windows it would again ask for the Stock RUU press OK and repeat process from step 4.
(This time it would start the process. A long command changing process would be started).
7: When flashing is done disconnect the phone.
Note;
(Because after closing CMD window, It might again ask to flash stock RUU).
After Flashing.
Charge the phone for a While and then start it normally. First time start can take much time in starting so have patience.
